Strengthening Connected Relationships
KCA is here to enable people to build and strengthen connected relationships, using evidence from research to improve everyday interactions, everywhere.

Five to Thrive is a way of understanding how connected relationships are fundamental to human wellbeing, helping to build resilient communities, and how we can promote these attachment bonds
Mending Hurts promotes recovery from trauma by enabling people to notice what they, or other people, do in their most effective interactions with people when they are more vulnerable or traumatized. When we notice ourselves doing something well, we become more conscious of our activity and more competent in it
Creating Connections between human beings lies at the heart of individual and community resilience, and, indeed, at the heart of KCA’s work. Our resilience mapping tools open up conversations about the network around people when they are feeling more vulnerable. This can offer insights that guide intervention and support.
Holding Together offers a systemic intervention to build resilience in the team around a child when they are more vulnerable or traumatised
I found the tutor really engaging and easy to listen to. I really enjoyed this training and will definitely be using what I have learned in my work as a children's social worker

I think that my enhanced awareness means that I will approach daily situations and challenges with families we are supporting differently, and I will guide our volunteers using this info as well.

I have given Kate the highest score possible as I have never attended training, especially that over Zoom, that was as engaging and motivating as hers was. She is clearly very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to have attended.

As a Guardian coping with a child with possible ASD I found this course amazing and I took so much away with me, I found the [information on] brain functioning extremely helpful in understanding why my child behaves the way he does. For me this course was absolutely vital.

It was excellent training, really informative, learnt so many things- information on how the brain develops and effect of trauma. Susan was an excellent trainer- so knowledgeable and "human"- I liked her sharing of personal experiences.

This is one of the best training sessions I have been to. Took a lot away from it. I also love the section where you used your hand to describe the brain never heard of this analogy before but its helped cement the knowledge into my own brain. Thank you

Working with students, this is invaluable training in order to support them when they are experiencing stressful/traumatic situations and how to process and think about the triggers/emotions situations raise

My approach to dealing with different behaviours will be better considered, as well as my consideration of what these behaviours may be telling me about any possible past or current trauma,

This is one of the best courses I have done as it teaches about the responsibilities of a carer and how to work as a team. Rewards for training are refreshing.
